The ACL Bridge Repairs project, in conjunction with Kaipara District Council, commenced in November 2023 and ran through till June 2024, comprising of multiple bridges - around 30 - found on various sites throughout the Kaipara, each with its own unique challenges, due to the vast nature of the district. The works comprised of structural element replacement, installation of new diaphragms, flanges, anchors and hold down bolt assemblies, replacement of portions of the deck soffits, kerbing and other concrete components, coating renewal - including prepping bare steel and applying new coating system, reinstatement of expansion joins and subsequent restoration and replacement of timber handrails, pavement, sight rails and road signs.
