Ngunguru Rd is a part of Whangarei District’s High Risk Rural Roads (HRRR) programme (2021-2024) planned to implement appropriate safety improvements with the focus on road delineation and curve warning signage. This project aims to reduce deaths and serious injuries along a busy road section by improving road safety signage. The scope of works for ACL consisted of installation of multiple new chevron boards, single curve arrows, and curve advisory signage along this notorius stretch of road - totalling around 210 units installed.
